ABOUT KGAWG

KGAWG is registered in Kenya as a Social Self Help Group with a goal of having a Benevolent Welfare Fund for its member and family, Group Life Insurance/Funeral Expenses Cover for its members and family as well as participate in other Self Help activities such as Investments and Merry-Go-Rounds, etc.  KGAWG is committed to expanding its role in the future by participating in many other activities with a goal of helping members and their families to create support for each other in order to improve members overall wellbeing.

KGAWG was initiated by Judi MiNage, who is also referred to as the Patron.  Ms. MiNage and others listed on the “Constitution’s page” felt the need to be connected to Kaimosi Girls Alumni and support one another through an agreed upon the constitution.  Ms. MiNage also noticed the unfairness in supporting members to not be fair, giving some members high support, while others little to no support.  To keep our relationships intact, it was necessary to come up with a governing constitution that was free from prejudices such as unfairness, popularism, preconceived notions, favoritism, and impartiality. The only way to overcome these biases was a need for a black and white constitution for those people who choose to participate in any of our services (1) Benevolent Welfare Fund (2) Group Life Insurance/Funeral Expenses Cover and (3) Any Investment Schemes.

KGAWG also recognized that participating in any of the above-listed services is TOTALLY OPTIONAL.  However, Registration in the members’ portal is Mandatory to afford you the chance or opportunity to participate in any of the three listed services. A lack of participation in any one of the services may also exclude you from benefiting.  Every member is encouraged to participate in at least one of the services being offered by KGAWG after registering in the portal. For those who can participate in two or more services will of course benefit the most.  This constitution took effect June 30, 2017.  Renewal of membership is required every June 30 of the following year for a member to remain in good standing.

WHO QUALIFIES TO BE A MEMBERSHIP OF KGAWG?

Kaimosi Girls Alumni, their families and anybody who is willing to abide by KGAWG constitution qualifies to participate. This group is practically open to anybody who is willing to abide by KGAWG constitution.  Please take your time to read the constitution before signing up for KGAWG.  If for some reason you do not like our constitution, do not sign up with a hope of fighting everybody to change the constitution to favor your current situation.  The constitution was designed to sustain the group for the year while fostering unity and fairness among the group as described in the preamble. For the Welfare Fund, 45 days Grace Period will not change and for the Life Insurance, all requirements must be met.  PLEASE READ THE CONSITUTION CAREFULLY AND IF FOR ANY REASON YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH THE CONSTITUTION DO NOT CONTINUE TO REGISTER FOR ANY OF OUR MEMBER SERVICES as KGAWG is totally optional. This constitution has been tested over and over and KGAWG encourages all members to register all their relatives and friends.  KGAWG constitution does not support fundraising efforts on the forum for family members who choose not to participate in this scheme and also who do not meet the guidelines of the constitution. Remember, ex-spouses and step-siblings are not covered under our constitution on the lead member’s application but are covered as standalone members.  We encourage all members to register their spouses in order to cover all in-laws side of the family.  Adopted children and those under Legal Guardianship with proper Legal Adoption/Legal Guardianship papers are covered.  We understand this may sound unfair as some people have one parent, no siblings etc.  The reason why the current yearly premium is only Ksh.10, 000 per year is due to the uneven numbers of our beneficiaries.  Nominating parents, children or siblings on the application will change the mathematical calculation of the premium thus raising the premium to Ksh. 30,000 per year for it to work. Remember, we can cover more people such as spouses by paying for their side of the family, for example, yourself and spouse yearly premium is Ksh. 20,000 per year. KGAWG encourages members to choose wisely, for example, the benevolent fund is good to cover your parents (over 80 years old) who do not qualify for the insurance premium due to their age.  However, for those extended families, such as step children, etc, the insurance cover is an excellent option to ensure that all your loved ones are covered.  In summary, everyone qualifies as long as they are willing to abide by our constitution.

Membership

Membership is Mandatory especially if you want to benefit from any of the services listed above. A mandatory membership fee is Ksh. 2000 per year. Membership fee is strictly used for administrative expenses such as paying the officials, making copies of your applications, maintaining the website, paying for any expenses incurred in our general meeting.  Some people have raised the question of a one-time membership fee which does not work for KGAWG as these expenses must be paid to keep our office doors open.  Member’s calendar year begins June 30 through June 30 of the following year.  This is a membership organization and you will not receive any services or be allowed to register for any benefits such as the Benevolent Welfare Fund, Life Insurance/Funeral Expenses Cover, or any Investments with KGAWG if you are not a member of KGAWG.  You become a member by registering on our portal and paying the yearly membership fee of Ksh. 2000.

BENEVOLENT WELFARE FUND

The current benefit of the Welfare Fund is Ksh.50, 000.  Payment is made within 48 hours.  This is an opportunity you do not want to miss out.  No more worried about where you are going to find money to assist with funeral expenses for your loved ones.  Give your loved ones a good send off.  Participate in this Benevolent Welfare Fund.  Only 45 days grace period before you can receive benefit from the date of paying your premium in full.  Don’t waste time; take advantage of this great opportunity.  You do not have to be popular to receive benefit.  Everybody gets the same money as long as they are fully paid and choose to participate in this program.

life insurance/funeral cover

We have great Insurance opportunities you MUST consider. This is NOT a Monthly payment but YEARLY PAYMENT. Insure your loved ones as there is no penalty for pre-existing conditions: One application can include the following you, spouse, children, parents, parent-in-laws, brothers and sisters. The premium of Ksh1500 per year per person will give you a benefit of Ksh.120, 000 and a premium of Ksh 2500 per year per person will give you a benefit of 220,000. This is the place all those excluded from the Benevolent fund are able to benefit. For example, ex-spouses, step parents, and step-children can take extra insurance without the member paying extra membership fee for them. If you have other members of the family such as siblings, great grandparents etc that do not meet this description, they must first be members of KGAWG, pay their Ksh. 2000 membership fee before completing the insurance application forms.  Any incomplete application will not be submitted to the insurance.  Make sure that you have all supporting documents before starting to complete the Insurance form as the form wants you to upload the files as you complete the application. All insurance applications are due by June 30 of every year.  Membership is completed by registering on our portal. Before starting to complete the application, make sure that you have copies of your KRA certificate for yourself and a KRA numbers of your parents and in-laws, ID cards for all adults listed on the application and birth certificates of all your children under 18 years old ready on your phone or computer for easy upload. It is extremely difficult to complete your application without these documents for easy launching with the insurance company.

This section is an effort for members to showcase their business as well as fundraise for KGAWG.  KGAWG is showcasing businesses of KGAWG members for free during the website design period. Thereafter, a fee of Ksh. 2500 will be assessed. Ksh. 2000 will go to the web designer and Ksh.500 will remain with KGAWG as a fundraiser effort to assist with KGAWG mission. Your advertisement will remain for life unless members report bad reviews about your business then it will be taken down. Non-Members can advertise at the above rate. All investment opportunities will remain optional as described above to allow members the opportunity to participate ONLY in what they feel most comfortable with at the same time not overwhelming anybody as WE all are not EQUAL and may have our priorities different.  KGAWG is here to showcase your products.  Take advantage of this great opportunity.  Tell your friend to submit their business for listing by KGAWG by first paying the treasure the funds and then submitting their advertisement through our website kgawg2017@gmail.com.  KGAWG also welcomes DONATION of more than Ksh.2500 from our beloved sponsors.
